The 3rd stage of the Tour of Slovenia was crucial in the battle in the overall classification: the summit finish in Trije Kraiji (178,5 km from the start in Dobrovnik) decided the ranking in the overall standings.
Five riders attacked in the early kilometers and they led the race until the descent from the 2nd climb of the stage when the peloton was again back together.
The selection was made on the final climb and the Slovenian team Adria Mobil obtained the victory thanks to Roglic and third place with Rogina.
Lampre-Merida had good feedbacks from Diego Ulissi who crossed the finish line in 6th position. He was brilliant on the 17km climb and he could compete for the podium until 800 meters to go.
Furthermore, it was a good performance by Jan Polanc, who set a regular pace on the climb, finishing 11th.
Ulissi uses the race to prepare for the Italian championships and was already strong in the time trial where he was third.
