LAMPRE-MERIDA will participate, for the first time in 2016, in a French race, taking part in the Tour Cycliste Internationale du Haut Var which will take place on February 20-21.
The first stage (155 km) will start from Le Cannet des Maures and end in Bagnols en Foret. The course will be characterized by two passages of the climb of the Col du Blavet. The second stage will be more demanding, with start and finish in Draguignan: during 206.8 km the riders will cover the Tourtour climb thrice, the Col de la Grange twice and the Tuillères.
The sports directors of LAMPRE-MERIDA, Simone Pedrazzini and Marco Marzano, will lead 8 riders: Mattia Cattaneo (photo Bettini), Valerio Conti, Kristijan Durasek, Roberto Ferrari, Przemyslaw Niemiec, Simone Petilli, Jan Polanc and Diego Ulissi.
"The course is suitable for the qualities of Ulissi. In France Diego will have a good opportunity to search of a good result," the blue-fuchsia-green sports directors said. "The framework of the line-up is similar to the one of the Trofeo Laigueglia, with the addition of Cattaneo and Ferrari.
We'll rely on a good group of climbers, who feel they'll realize a top performance in the second stage."
