Latest performances at the national championships turned out to be a key factor when it comes to a final selection for the UniSA-Australian team roster for the only WorldTour raceheld on the continent, the Santos Tour Down Under. Thus, in-form riders in likes of Jack Bobridge, Steele von Hoff and youngsters Miles Scotson or Alex Edmondson are expected to showcase their talent and animate the event.

Even though the most hyped of Australian rising stars, Caleb Evan, won't be present at the start as Orica-GreenEDGE decided to keep his powder dry, other youngsters in likes of double national U23 champion Miles Scotson and runner-up in the road race Alex Edmondson will experience a bittersweet taste of racing at the WorldTour level.

Along with young talents, more experienced riders who stepped down to Continental level for 2015, Jack Bobridge and Steele von Hoff, will be provided with a chance to show themselves off in the stage event held on their national soil. Just like in case of Scotson and Edmondson, their impressive performances in recently concluded national championships won them spots in the UniSA squad, as the former finished third in the individual time trial while the latter won the criterium title.

Surprising podium finisher in the road race, Neil van der Ploeg also earned the selection, as well as talented Orica-GreenEDGE stagiaire Jack Haig and youngest in the squad Robert Power.

"The University has been supporting Team UniSA-Australia and giving young riders the chance to showcase their talent on the international stage now for 15 years," University of South Australia Vice Chancellor Professor David Lloyd said, according to Cyclingnews. "This year’s team comprises seven exciting and aggressive young cyclists, who I'm sure, will relish the opportunity to show what they are made of and bring it up to the world’s best.

"As Australia;s University of Enterprise, we are delighted to fly the flag for young Australian cycling talent on the world stage."

UniSA-Australia roster for 2015 Santos Tour Down Under consists of:

Jack Haig, Steele von Hoff, Alex Edmondson, Neil van der Ploeg, Robert Power, Miles Scotson and Jack Bobridge
