The new Omega Pharma - QuickStep climber, Rigoberto Uran, wants to honor his new jersey in Giro 2014, as he tells Ciclismo Internacional.

"I've got good results in the Giro", 2nd overall in 2013 with a stage win,  "and I will continue to work, but cycling is very difficult and I can not say you want to get the desired outcome." While talking about the road to the Maglia Rosa, with more climbing and less time trial kilometers, especially with the recent time trial route change, it could be more suitable to him. The Colombian is cautious, though, as he adds, "The Giro is a mad rush, we must be especially careful in the stages that are apparently less demanding."

Many would have thought the reason that Uran left Sky is to seek a Tour GC leadership opportunity, but it's not likely to be offered in the OPQS team as well, at least in 2014. The Olympic silver medalist is content, though, "It will be the team to decide which races I do, the important thing is to stay motivated, and I feel happy with the team change."

Giro 2014 is attracting a lot of good GC riders, like Uran's compatriot Quintana, as well as Porte and J-Rod. Uran's dream will certainly require excellent form and had work to become a reality.
