The UCI has announced the rankings for the World Tour and Continental tour classifications on Tuesday, sealing the number of riders for national selections for the UCI Road World championship elite men’s road race. Ten nations earned nine-man teams for the race: Spain, Great Britain, Colombia, Italy, France, Australia, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Czech Republic.
Michal Kwiatkowski, the current World champion, will have only five teammates. Indeed, Poland missed out the top 10 of the World Tour teams ranking. Slovakia will have three riders, giving favourite Peter Sagan at least two lead-out men.
