The rumours that the USA Pro Challenge would not go ahead in 2016 have finally be calmed. Ever since owners Rick and Richard Schaden sold the race to new organisers, rumours have been rife that the race would be stopped.
"We aren't confirming any details," PR agent Heather Krug confirmed to Cyclingnews. "Announcement to come soon."
Lots of towns have reportedly turned down the chance to host a stage. The race has lost money each year since its inception, but that loss has been cut each year, according to the Denver Post. Last year that the event went from losing $10 million in the first year to only $2 million in 2015. Organisers estimated the economic impact to the state at over $100 million.
