Ever since the dramatic episodes at last year's Worlds in Florence, there has been talks about a bad relationship between the best Spanish riders. Now Alejandro Valverde tries to calm things down by claiming that he has a good relationship with both Joaquim Rodriguez and Alberto Contador.
In recent months there has been a lot of talk about a fierce rivalry between Alejandro Valverde , Joaquim Rodriguez and Alberto Contador .To try to clarify the situation, the Movistar rider gave an interview at the University Católica San Antonio de Murcia where he paricipated in the first day of the Foro Decyde.
"Rodriguez, Contador and I are only rivals in the race but off the bike we have a good relationship. Contador's withdrawal from the Worlds made a lot of noise in the outside world but he explained his reasons and we understand his decision," Valverde said.
Valverde also analyzed his 2014 season that saw him win the overall WorldTour.
"Due to my overall results, this has been the best season of my career," he said." "I am very happy even though you can always improve. Now I have a three-year contract with Movistar and I still have many kilometres where I can do well."
