After today's race in Baal, Wout van Aert will immediately travel to Spain. He wants to prepare for the Belgian Championships in the best possible conditions. His teammate Rob Peeters will also travel to Calpe.
Today Wout van Aert will try to defend his leadership in the Bpost Bank Trofee Race in Baal. Home rider Sven Nys and Kevin Pauwels are his nearest rivals but they are almost five minutes behind the youngster. However, van Aert already has a new goal: the Belgian championships.
On Thursday, he will take the plane to Spain to get in some solid training under the sun. He won't be on his own as he will be joined by teammate Rob Peeters in Calpe. The rest of the team will stay in Belgium.
The duo will train there until Monday and so the will the Soudal cyclo-cross race in Leuven. Whether the camp pays off will be revealed on Sunday, January 11 in Erpe-Mere.
