Jürgen van den Broeck (Lotto Belisol) is setting his sights on new targets. Besides the Tour de France, a race in which he has experienced both misfortune and near podium misses in the past few seasons, the Belgian rider revealed his ambions to perform well in the Ardennes Classics in an interview with Sporza.be.
“I have sufficient experience to know how to win these races,” van den Broeck said. “I will work hard to arrive at the Liège-Bastogne-Liège in peak condition. I’ve told my team that I want to win this race, just as I want to win the Tour de France. I have abstinence for victories, and it’s time to quench my thirst for victories.”
Van den Broeck’s best result in an Ardennes Classic is 10th in the Flèche Wallonne in 2012 while he finished 4th overall in the Tour de France in 2010 and 2012.
