Having failed in the two latest editions of the race, Jurgen Van Den Broeck wasn't present at today's presentation of the Tour de France. The Belgian likes the course even though it is still uncertain whether he will be at the start.
For 31-year-old Jurgen Van Den Broeck, it is no foregone conclusion that he will be at the start of next year's Tour de France but the rider who finished 13th in 2014, is delighted with the course.
"Interesting #TDF2015. Excitement and spectacle from day 1 #liketheroute," he wrote on Twitter.
Lotto-Belisol decided not to have Jurgen Van Den Broeck attend the presentation in Paris.
"I thought it would be a bad idea for him to go. After two failures, it would have been a mental challenge," team manager Marc Sergeant tells Sporza. "But it has no further consequences. Jurgen needs to gain confidence in the smaller stage races and then we'll see whether the Tour should be a real goal."
This year Van Den Broeck had to settle for a 13th place and last year he had to abandon the race. In 2010 and 2012, he finished fourth in Paris.
