Yesterday Lars van der Haar finished 45 seconds behind Wout van Aert in the GP Sven Nys in Baal to claim second place. "He was very strong," the Dutchman told Het Nieuwsblad. "I can live with this result."
There was not much to do against Wout van Aert in Baal. Second placed Lars van der Haar had to admit defeat to the impressive youngster "Today the course in Baal was very heavy," he told Het Nieuwsblad. "It was a difficult race. I had a bad moment when Sven [Nys] attacked. I saw that Wout joined him and told myself that I had to do the same but when Wout then went on hus own attack, I knew it would be difficult. I had no answer to that gear. Tom Meeusen managed to join him but I couldn't. Wout was very strong today."
Today van der Haar will be at the start of the race in Surhuisterveen. "I want to have a good day and then the focus will be entirely in the Nationals." Van der Haar will skip the race in Leuven on Sunday.
