Lars van der Haar will lead the Dutch squad in the first World Cup race in Valkenburg next Sunday. The in-form van der Haar hopes to repeat his performance last season, when he managed to win the race on the Cauberg.
Dutch sensation Matthieu van der Poel, who started the season with a win in Gieten and a second place in Ronse, decided to compete for the under-23 version of the World Cup this season.
National coach Johan Lammerts can count on Matthieu’s older brother David van der Poel, who started the season with a fourth place in Gieten. The five riders competing the Dutch squad are Corne van Kessel, Thijs van Amerongen, Niels Wubben, Eddy van IJzendoorn and Twan van den Brand.
