Mathieu van der Poel may have finished third in the World Cup race in Koksijde but when the series continues in Milton Keynes on Saturday, the Dutchman will be absent. Van der Poel has decided to skip the British race.
Mathieu van der Poel will skip the World Cup race in Milton Keynes. Last Saturday the 19-year-old rider from BKCP Powerplus finished third in the World Cup race in Koksijde. The race in England does not fit into his schedule.
This year van der Poel will focus on the Superprestige series and will do the U23 races in the World Cup. There was no U23 race in Koksijde and so he decided to race the elite race but even though there is no U23 race in Milton Keynes either, the Dutchman has decided to skip the race.
The race in Milton Keynes in the third round of the World Cup. With the youngest van der Poel brother being the only exception, the selection of Dutch nation coach Johan Lammerts remains unchanged.
