By joining the second breakaway in his first Tour de France, Kenneth Vanbilsen earned himself the combatitivty award in stage 10.
"We came to the Tour to work for Nacer Bouhanni but since he crashed and went home, we don't have to prepare for sprints anymore so we use the terrain as much as we can," he said. "To get the most aggressive price is a nice honor. We would have needed fifteen minutes lead at the bottom of the last climb to hope for more.
"It was good for the team to be in front so I spent the day there with Fedrigo. Initially, I was part of Nacer's train Nacer but now things have changed since he has abandoned and it is the second time I am in the right breakaway. I'm happy to win this award today."
