Sporza spoke with Sep Vanmarcke after he did the recon of Paris-Roubaix. "Last Sunday I went very deep, but I think I am back in order," says the leader of LottoNL-Jumbo.

Vanmarcke took the main cobbled sections under the microscope. "It was very fast today with the tailwind," was the conclusion of the number three in the Tour of Flanders.

"Sunday the wind will be different, but the wind will still blow in our favor. So the race will be different, although I do not know if will change the tactics. But today you flew over the cobblestones."

Vanmarcke explored to Carrefour de l'Arbre, perhaps the key sector in the final. "I am sorry that you must always take the side path on the first part of the strip. The stones are very bad and that might be a cause of crashes.”

How did the legs of Vanmarcke feel? "I went very deep on Sunday and had to recover. That is why I have not ridden the Scheldeprijs because I wanted to train at my own pace and did not depend on the peloton. But I think I'm all right again."

Does Vanmarcke hope it rains in "Hell"? "Even if it rains a little, it becomes very dangerous. Then the stress will be greater in the peloton. But the rain does no harm to me, because then the technique on cobblestones comes into play and that's in my favor."
