Venezuelan Carlos Gálviz (1989) is not allowed not take the start of the Vuelta al Táchira which begins today, after the Anti-Doping Commission of his country notified him about a positive doping control at the recent Tour of Costa Rica.

Gálviz did the Vuelta a Costa Rica with the national team in December. The winner of the 2014 Vuelta al Táchira - the original winner Briceño tested positive for EPO - now faces a suspension and can not take the start of the the Vuelta al Táchira. His participation at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro is also under threat.

The National Anti-Doping Commission of the Ministry of Sports of Costa Rica announced the Gálviz' positive test at the meeting of directors of the race.

26-year-old Gálviz spent two seasons with Androni and has been with Start Trigon and Movistar Team America in the last two years.
