As it was reported by Biciciclismo today, the physical condition of the Movistar Team rider Giovanni Visconti is steadily improving while he undergoes a recovery-period following the leg fracture he sustained in the very beginning of the 2014 season.
Visconti was the biggest victim of the crash-marred People’s Choice Classic held on the eve of the Santos Tour Down Under, as the Italian fractured his leg and underwent a surgery in Australia before returning to his home Italy.
Currently living in Tuscany, the Sicilian-born Movistar rider was seen with his team-mates competing in the Strade Bianche and participated in the GP Camaiore earlier this week as a passenger in his team’s car.
According to Biciciclismo the physical condition of Visconti is steadily improving, however, they have reported that he is expected to return to racing in the second half of April while the Italian initially hoped to be ready in late March.
“Now, checking the calendar again, I aim to return to the peloton towards the end of March, but at this point I don’t know whether I will participate in the Giro, partially because Movistar wants to win the event with Nairo Quintana and so that they need the whole team to be in a top disposition,” Visconti told in the radio interview in middle February.
