Cannondale Pro Cycling has landed in Turkey. The team will attend the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey, beginning Sunday, April 27 through Sunday, May 4. The eight-stage race, which ends in Istanbul, will be an ideal hunting ground for seeking wins for the Green Machine.

 

During the Tour of Turkey, Cannondale Pro Cycling will be sponsored by ÇAĞDAŞ KİMYA, one of Turkey's leading food ingredient suppliers. The company's logo will be seen on the back and chest of the Cannondale Pro Cycling team jersey. 

 

"I am proud that ÇAĞDAŞ KİMYA has started this new partnership with a top brand such as Cannondale," said owner Hasan Çarpisan.

 

Moving focus to the Tour of Turkey, Cannondale Pro Cycling has selected eight able riders to perform well on all of the race's different routes. Elia Viviani will lead the Green Machine in Turkey. Viviani holds a special connection to the Tour of Turkey as it was his first race a professional rider in 2010. It is also where he took his first win that same year.

 

"Of course, the memories I have from this race are great," said Viviani. "My aim is to continue to improve the level of my competitiveness and to try to leave my mark on the race again. The Tour of Turkey is also my last race before the Giro. Not all of my rivals are suited for a sprint. I want to perform at my best in each of these. There are a lot of good sprinters but I'm not worried, just ready for a challenge. Taking a win in front of important riders would be a great boost of confidence for the Corsa Rosa."

 

While in Turkey, the Italian sprinter will be supported by team director Dario Mariuzzo and strong team to light up each stage. Riders include: Australian Cameron Wurf, Canadian Guillaume Boivin, Italians Alan Marangoni and Davide Formolo, Austrian Matthias Krizek and Slovak Juraj Sagan.
