Today, the teams for the 2014 Volta a Catalunya were announced.

In addition to the eighteen WorldTour teams admitted to take part in the stage race, the Wild Card teams were announced.

They are Caja Rural, ProContinental Spanishteam, the Polish CCC Polsat-Polkowice, for whom Davide Rebellin rides, and the French team Cofidis. Scheduled between March 30 and 24, the race, which was won last year by Daniel Martin from Joaquin Rodriguez and Michele Scarponi, will include the following stages: 

Stage 1: Calella - Calella, 165.7km 

Stage 2: Mataró - Girona, 171.2km 

Stage 3: Banyoles - La Molina (Alp), 162.9km 

Stage 4: Alp - Vallter 2000-Setcases, 166.4km 

Stage 5: Vall de-Llanars Camprodon - Valls, 222.2km 

Stage 6: El Vendrell - Vilanova i la Geltru, 163.9km 

Stage 7: Barcelona (Montjuïc) Barcelona (Montjuïc), 120.7 km
