According to Biciciclismo, Eduard Vorganov has finally found a new team as he will join the Continental Minsk Cycling Club.
The move is likely to be both a disappointment and a relief for the Russian. Vorganov has been riding for Katusha since 2010 and he was in the top 20 at the Tour de France in 2012, but in February this year he was notified of a positive test for Meldonium while he was riding the Tour of Valencia. He was sacked by his team and despite being allowed to ride again in May after being cleared of the charges, he had not found a team until now.
Meldonium was placed on the list of prohibited products on January 1 but it emerged that athletes could be tested positive even though they had consumed the product before the date of the ban. The positive control of Vorganov goes back to January 14. More recently Yuri Trofimov and Sergey Shilov escaped sanctions for positive controls dating back to March.
