Two years after his last visit in the province of Murcia, the Vuelta a Espana will return in 2017 as announced by the President of the region Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
Sanchez confirmed that Caravaca de la Cruz will host the Spanish race for a start and a finish, as Ciclo21 reports. It is a city that has hosted the race many times in the history of the event and especially in 2010 for the last visit. It was the start of a stage which saw Thor Hushovd win in Murcia. One year earlier, the city had been the scene of a finish where Tyler Farrar was the fastest.
According to Sanchez, it is a new opportunity for the region to develop tourism. The route of the Vuelta will be officially presented in the beginning of January.
