Wanty-Groupe Gobert continues its commitment to developing young talents. The team has signed a two-year contract with Lander Seynaeve who has been riding as a stagiaire for the past two years.
Next year Lander Seynaeve will be professional at Wanty-Groupe Gobert, according to Jean-François Bourlart, the manager of the team. After his final year as a U23 rider, he has signed a two-year contract with the Belgian continental professional team.
"It's a very good chance," the 22-year-old told www.directvelo.be. "I didn't really expect it, but I still did a good season. I will still have a support role. I enjoy helping others. This will give me experience and perhaps later I can play my own card," said the rider who had originally signed with Verandas Willems.
"I wanted to sign somewhere. I had a lot of confidence in this team, it really appealed to me. But then I would not have had a pro contract."
For two years, Lander Seynaeve has been a member of the EFC-team Omega Pharma - QuickStep team. Already a stagiaire in 2013, he again received a trial period at the end of the 2014 season. He has had a difficult season. Nonetheless, he still finished fourth in the interclub Kemmel and fifth in Memorial Christmas Soetaert which he won in 2013. In 2013, he won three races.
