Despite teams and riders not being allowed to confirm transfers until August 1, Bradley Wiggins has told Cycling Tips that Owain Doull, one of the riders on his Wiggins team, will join Sky in 2017.
“Owain Doull is the first success story of this team and already going into the pro ranks next year with Team Sky,” Wiggins told Cycling Tips at a press briefing in America.
“Sky supports our team because I’ve got a long relationship with them through winning the Tour, and stuff for them, doing the Hour Record, they wanted to get behind that and support that and televise it and everything.”
Wiggins confirmed last year that close friend Mark Cavendish would be leaving Etixx-QuickStep way before he joined Dimension Data, so this type of statement is not out of character for the British legend.
