Some rumors were circulating in the world of cycling about the possibility of Bradley Wiggins leaving Team Sky to join the new Fernando Alonso cycling project, after the former was approached by the Formula One driver while staying in Mallorca. However, according to the management of the British World Tour team, the former Tour the France winner has no intention to leave his current squad, as the new two-year contract has been just offered to him.

Approached by the Cyclingnews after news about the meeting between Wiggins and Alonso were reported by Diario Mallorca, the spokesmen for rider’s management company claimed that there is no intention from the British rider to leave Team Sky in the near future.

"Bradley is under contract to Team Sky. He's very happy with the set up there and is totally focused on his 2014 training and racing schedule. He feels part of the fabric of the team and has no plans to leave the team."

Even though a contract between Wiggins and Team Sky expires with the end of this year, which technically leaves him opened for any offers coming from other cycling squads regarding 2015 season, the Briton wants to improve on his unsatisfying results from 2013 before putting a pen to paper.

Reportedly, Team Sky were unaware of any negotiations between Wiggins and Alonso.
