Bradley Wiggins (39) lived up to his role of favorite in the Six Days of Ghent. "This was my last race with Mark Cavendish, but perhaps not as an individual. I mainly want to enjoy this moment," said the Briton.

"9 years ago I was here for the last time and 13 years ago I won with Matthew Gilmore and 18 years ago I was here for the first time as a 19-year-old boy. I was born in Ghent and it always felt like my second home," Bradley Wiggins told Sporza after the Ghent Six Day.

"T’Kuipke has not changed. It's special to win here. I've always said that I wanted to ride here one last time. And then I manage to win here with Mark Cavendish after verything we've been through in recent years.

"As a pair this was our last race together, but this was perhaps not my last race as an individual.

"What my future will bring? I'm not sure yet. I mainly want to enjoy this moment. I have good legs. I'm not saying that this is the end, and then say something else next week.”

Wiggins’ father, a former rider, would have turned 64 today. "I always think of him. As a rider he is still one of my heroes.

"I'm not a fan of his personality and as a father he was worthless. But as a rider he has inspired me and he gave me good genes."
