Bradley Wiggins(Sky) might ride Vuelta a Espana this year. The former Tour winner considers the race a nice preparation for the World Championship ITT, as he tells Guardian newspaper.

Last year Wiggins chose to attend Tour de Pologne, Eneco Tour and Tour of Britain in order to prepare for the worlds. Each race has an ITT in it, but the British rider feels that there were just not enough miles in those races. Wiggins was 2nd in last year's worlds ITT, but 46 seconds shy of eventual winner Tony Martin(OPQS).

And if the multiple Olympic gold winner choose to ride the Spanish grand Tour, it will mark the second time that he ride it. Last and the only time Wiggins rode the Vuelta, he finished third overall in 2011, although the race was probably more memorable as Chris Froome(Sky)'s breakout campaign.

Wiggins will have Paris-Roubaix as his early season target, per earlier report, before joining the Sky Tour squad. The world time trial will likely be his other big goal of the season.

Last British rider to take home the Worlds ITT champion was David Millar in 2003, although the result was later nullified from the books due to Millar's doping offense.
