The teams for Paris-Nice and the Critérium du Dauphiné have been revealed. Organizer ASO has announced which teams will line up alongside the eighteen WorldTour formations after receiving wildcard invitations. The big surprise is the inclusion of Wanty-Groupe Gobert in the field for the Criterium du Dauphiné.
As usual, most wildcards have been given to French teams. Cofidis and Direct Energie will participate both in Paris-Nice and the Critérium du Dauphiné. The other two wild cards for the ''Race to the Sun' were granted to the other two French pro continental teams, Delko Marseille Provence and Fortuneo-Vital Concept. However, those two teams missed out on invitations for the Dauphiné where the final two wild cards were given to German Bora-Argon 18 and Wanty-Groupe Gobert.
ASO often use the Dauphiné as a test for future Tour de France teams, indicating that Wanty-Groupe Gobert could be in contention for a spot in 2017 when they will apply for a wildcard for La Grande Boucle.
