"Winning is always nice, and especially for a very dear rider who has had a difficult season. We also won the KOM competition and the team’s competition. We will take this with us for our final race of the season in Lombardy and see if we can finish well. Regarding the success of Michal Kwiatkowski I can say that it is a honour that a former Caja Rural rider is wearing the rainbow jersey. I’m happy for him. He is the type of person, who will greet you after a race,” Esquisabel Floren CEO of Caja Rural told the team website.
Amets Txurruka praises his team for the huge work they have done the past couple of days.
“When the race was finishing everything was going to be determined on the Col de Mende. We moved on the first part and then Dugand suffered. We sat a higher pace on the second part of it. Pello Bilbao, Madrazo and I were at the front and made the difference. The team worked very well again today. This win is a tremendous job,” Amets Txurruka said.
Also KOM winner Angel Madrazo praises the team work and the way his own personal form is turning out.
"I am finding the last race very well. From the beginning we were clear that he had to go for the general and almost bounce we have taken the mountain, so that everything went perfect. See if I can take my fitness to finish in the best way the last four races remaining. One day we worked as a team, each in its place and we got a big win. "
