Cannondale Pro Cycling kicks off the 2013 professional cycling season with Australian Cameron Wurf taking part in the Australian Road National Championships.
On Wednesday, January 9th (2.30 pm local time), the twenty-nine-year-old Tasmanian native will ride the time trial race (37 kmsaround Ballarat) aboard his Cannondale Slice RS. Wurf is a strong time trialist, and finished sixth in 2012, and fourth in 2008 and 2009.
On Thursday, January 10th (7 pm local time), Wurf will compete in the Criterium (44 kms), followed by the road race planned for Sunday, January 13th at 11.30 am local time (196 kms around Buninyong).
“It is a huge honor to be competing in the debut race for the Cannondale Pro Cycling," says Wurf “Cannondale has a very passionate and loyal fan base here in Australia and I am very excited to be competing in my home race with there support in the brand NewJersey."
“I'm looking forward to the TT and the road race. My base level of fitness is good. I was able to build my condition on the road bike at the team training camp in Tuscany. I also trained with Basso around Varese before the camp which has me feeling confident in my level of endurance. Being in Australia over the summer always motivates me greatly to race my Cannondale EVO so I am very excited about the challenging course that awaits on Sunday”.
