Yves Lampaert, the Etixx-Quick Step rider, remains very modest after his good performance in Paris-Roubaix : he finished seventh. He was very strategic in the final of the race. But Yves Lampaert remained a "mixed feelings" after Paris-Roubaix, according to Sporza : "If I had stayed with Van Avermaet and Degenkolb away, I stood on the podium. But there were still four in and I was seventh after I had worked for Stybar."
"But I am satisfied that Stybar finished second. I did everything, did my job and get even a very good result. I will do everything to get another good result in the future in Paris-Roubaix."
Now, the rider is focusing on his next goal: the national championships. "With coach Tom Steels, I decided to make the BK time trial (Belgian Championships) my new goal. Tom knows me and sets my training programs."
He thinks he will be able to get some good results in the next years. "In a short stage races with us, like the Eneco Tour, I'd be able to get good results. It is like a time trial is combined with some more challenging stages."
The Etixx-Quick Step rider confirmed that he will not race a three-week race. "That will be difficult in our team, usually with a leader for the mountains there. Normally I do this year no tour, but in the future I'd like to ride the Tour."
