Marco Zamparella continued the fantastic performance of Amore e Vita by claiming the third win for the team and his second personal victory in stage 8 of the race.
Zamparella was part of a 9-rider breakaway that denied the sprinters the chance to sprint for the win in the flat stage. He beat former Androni professional Jackson Rodriguez in the sprint while the peloton arrived 22 seconds later.
Jose Mendoza defended his 13-second overall lead over Jorge Abreu ahead of tomorrow's queen stage.
