Lotto-Belisol's 2014 campaign takes an early hit, as two of its better riders, Henderson and De Clercq are now injured, and will be off the bike for now.
Henderson, the strong leadout man, had a surgery on his knee, to deal with prepatellar friction syndrome. The injury is said to be a common injury among cyclist. The Kiwi rider initially went for a non-surgical option, but it didn't produce positive result. As a result of the surgery, Henderson is set to miss the Tour Down Under. When he'll return is unknown yet.
De Clercq, former Giro stage winner, suffers a rib fracture, which is sustained during the camp last week. The Belgian will be off the bike for several days, and will return to training as soon as the pain goes away.
