Adriano Malori (Movistar Team) remains "stable" and has shown "signs of improvement" after spending "a good night" from Friday to Saturday. The Italian is "under observation" for 48 hours at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Hospital of San Luis as a result of the injuries he suffered yesterday in the big crash on the fifth stage of the Tour de San Luis.
The latest medical report (14:30) provided by the Movistar Team says that "Adriano Malori has spent the night. His condition is stable and there are signs of improvement. During the afternoon, further medical tests will be done at Hospital San Luis and a new report from the doctor will be published on Saturday."
According to the first report of the Hospital San Luis issued yesterday, Malori was brought to hospital at 18:10 (local time) with "multiple injuries and a head injury. He will stay at the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) for 48 hours." The Movistar Team also confirmed that he suffered a broken right collarbone.
The accident happened about 30 kilometers from the finish and affected around forty riders. "I was third behind two riders from Etixx-Quick Step," said Francisco Ventoso at the finish line."Malori was right behind me. He crashed and brought down at least 40 riders. Nibali told me that Malori hit a pothole and could not avoid the crash."
